Records of a person from the Meiji era, Image of a blueprint

This collection shows the appearance of a person from the Meiji era.
The Printing Bureau decided to introduce photographic techniques in an effort to study the art of forgery prevention by learning photography, which was being misused to counterfeit banknotes. In 1878 (Meiji 11), a photo studio was opened, in which various people including members of the Imperial family, politicians, and ordinary people were photographed.
The original glass plates that served as film are no longer extant, and only the approximately 1,500 sheets of these collections, which were later blueprinted, tell the story of the photo studio's operations at that time.
